Matteo Danesin, con la sua ricerca sulle cerimonie religiose e le feste della comunità pentecostale africana di Verona, ha scelto la fotografia della prossimità e della partecipazione, dove l’autore non si nasconde dietro il suo obbiettivo, ma entra emotivamente nelle situazioni, ne fa parte con il suo stesso corpo, con la sua fotocamera.
Si lascia cioè travolgere dai canti e dai fenomeni estatici che caratterizzano i culti pentecostali, dalla felicità di un matrimonio o di una danza. Le immagini di Matteo Danesin ci aiutano infatti a comprendere che questa comunità di pentecostali africani fa ormai parte del nostro mondo, e che d’ora in poi dovremmo condividere con loro una storia comune, una medesima realtà dove s’intrecciano e si confrontano culture e mondi diversi.     

Matteo Danesin with his research on the religious ceremonies and holidays of  Verona's  African Pentecostal community has chosen the photography of  nearness and  a  participation in which  the author isn't hidden behind his  lens, but  enters the situations emotionally,  participating with both  his  body and his  camera. That is, he lets himself  be overwhelmed  by the  songs and ecstatic phenomena  typical of the Pentecostal cults,  by the happiness of a marriage or of  a dance.   

Matteo Danesin's images help us understand that this African Pentecostal community is by  now part of our world and that , from now on, we must share a common history with them, a  same reality in which  different worlds and cultures meet and  intertwine.
